Delicate Rug Cleaning in Leavenworth, KS | Brooke’s Chem-Dry
Silk, antique, hand-knotted, and vintage rugs cleaned with a low-moisture process. Free pre-inspection on every delicate rug before we start.
Delicate Rugs Cannot Go Through a Standard Cleaning Process
Silk bleeds. Antique backing deteriorates. Hand-knotted construction loosens. Vintage dyes react unpredictably to chemicals and water. A standard carpet cleaning method built for synthetic wall-to-wall carpet can permanently damage a delicate rug in one visit. Brooke’s Chem-Dry uses a low-moisture process that uses about 80% less water than traditional steam cleaning. Every delicate rug starts with a free pre-inspection so we know the fiber type, dye stability, and construction before we touch anything. We tell you what we can do before we do it.
How We Clean Delicate Rugs
- Free pre-inspection. We assess fiber type, dye stability, pile construction, and backing condition. For silk, antique, and vintage rugs, this step is not optional. We identify any conditions that affect how we clean and let you know before we start.
- Choose the right approach. Delicate rugs get adjusted solution concentration and gentler extraction pressure. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all process to a rug that needs individual attention.
- Low-moisture cleaning. Hot Carbonating Extraction uses carbonation to lift soil without soaking the rug. About 80% less water than steam cleaning means delicate fibers and backing stay stable.
- Post-clean review. We inspect the result with you before we leave. Most delicate rugs are dry in 1 to 2 hours and can be placed back in service the same day.

Delicate Rug Cleaning Questions
Can you clean a silk rug?
Silk requires extra care. We assess dye stability and fiber condition during the pre-inspection and determine whether our process is appropriate for the specific rug. Call us at (913) 351-3508 first and describe the rug. We will tell you what to expect before scheduling.
How do you clean an antique rug without damaging it?
The pre-inspection documents the age, construction, backing condition, and any prior repairs before we touch anything. We use a low-moisture process that uses about 80% less water than steam cleaning, which avoids the saturation and heat that are the biggest risks for antique rugs.
Will cleaning fade or bleed the colors in my vintage rug?
Dye stability is one of the things we assess during the free pre-inspection. If we find unstable dyes, we tell you before we start. Our low-moisture process reduces the water exposure that typically causes dye bleed, but we will be honest with you about what we find during the inspection.
Do you pick up delicate rugs or clean them in the home?
We clean in your home. No transport risk, no waiting for a facility to return it. We come to you, complete the pre-inspection, clean the rug in place, and most rugs are dry in 1 to 2 hours.
