Carpet Cleaning Questions Answered | Brooke’s Chem-Dry Leavenworth
Everything Leavenworth homeowners ask before booking. If your question isn’t here, call us.
What is Hot Carbonating Extraction?
Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE) is the cleaning process Chem-Dry uses on carpets, upholstery, and hard floors. A carbonated solution penetrates carpet fibers and lifts dirt to the surface. The solution uses about 80% less water than steam cleaning. Carpets dry in 1 to 2 hours instead of 12 to 24. The Natural® is Chem-Dry primary cleaning agent in this process.
How is Chem-Dry different from steam cleaning?
Steam cleaning uses large amounts of hot water forced into carpet fibers. This can lead to long dry times, mold risk in the carpet backing, and detergent residue that re-attracts dirt. Chem-Dry uses carbonation instead of saturation. About 80% less water, faster dry times, and no soap residue left behind. hce vs steam cleaning
What is The Natural®?
The Natural® is core cleaning solution from Chem-Dry. It uses carbonation rather than harsh detergents to lift dirt from carpet and upholstery fibers. No fragrances added to mask odors. No dirt-attracting residue left behind to attract future soiling. It is the primary solution we use in every carpet cleaning appointment.
How long does it take for carpet to dry after cleaning?
Most carpets are dry in 1 to 2 hours. Heavier carpets or areas with significant soiling may take slightly longer. Because we use about 80% less water than steam cleaning, there is far less moisture to extract. Running ceiling fans or opening windows speeds drying further.
Do I need to vacuum before you arrive?
A quick vacuum before we arrive helps us focus on deep cleaning rather than surface debris. It is not required, but it does improve results. We will complete a pre-cleaning inspection when we arrive regardless.
What surfaces does Brooke’s Chem-Dry clean?
Carpet, upholstery (sofas, chairs, sectionals, mattresses), area rugs, tile and grout, hard floors (hardwood, vinyl, LVP, laminate, stone, engineered hardwood, concrete), and pet urine treatment using P.U.R.T. Most appointments include two or more surface types in a single visit.
What is P.U.R.T.?
P.U.R.T. stands for Pet Urine Removal Treatment. It is a specialized solution designed to treat pet urine odor at the source: the uric acid crystals that lodge in carpet fibers and backing. Standard cleaning removes surface soiling but does not break down uric acid. P.U.R.T. does. The result is odor elimination, not odor masking.
Can you clean hardwood, vinyl, or LVP floors?
Yes. Brooke’s Chem-Dry cleans all hard floor types including hardwood, vinyl, LVP, laminate, stone, engineered hardwood, and concrete. The HCE process uses minimal moisture, which is critical for wood and laminate floors where excess water causes warping and damage. Learn more about hard floor cleaning.
Do you clean area rugs?
Yes. Area rugs including Persian, wool, delicate, and everyday rugs. The cleaning process is matched to the rug’s fiber type and dye method to avoid damage. We clean area rugs on-site during your appointment.
Can you clean multiple surfaces in a single appointment?
Yes. Most appointments cover two or more surfaces. Carpet, upholstery, hard floors, tile, and area rugs can all be included in a single visit. You get one price confirmation before we arrive and one service window that covers everything.
